Connecting the dots between behavior, emotion, environment and body is key for optimum wellness. It is very common to go ignore our emotions and yet its what we do with them, that can define our life. Let us guide you and show you the power of your mind, the power of your word, the power of your intent.

What is the difference from Holistic Psychotherapy and Traditional Psychotherapy?

In Holistic Psychotherapy we don’t only focus on emotional response, but the connection that many other factors can have on your emotional well being. Combining Nutritional guidance, Meditation techniques, Hypnosis and Spirituality (none religious specific) to create more than just emotional shifts and transforming it into a complete lifestyle change. In Holistic Psychotherapy we put the power in your hands offering techniques and homework to continue the progress at home. We believe that our clients should not be dependent on their therapist but rather the therapist be guides and teachers to best equip their clients for a happy healthier life.

What to expect in a Holistic Psychotherapy Session

After an initial consultation, the first Holistic Psychotherapy session last between 1hr to 90min. The session is a safe, welcoming and confidential environment to express and to discuss any and all aspects of your life. Focusing on conflict resolution, emotional management and techniques to best navigate your personal struggles and conflicts. We focus on results and often set timelines and offer methods/techniques to best manage symptoms and behaviors, the idea is that every session includes progress and improvement. We then create a plan to modify negative behavioral pattern and implement positive lifestyle changes, focusing on action and overall well-being. After having an open conversation we would then connect environmental factors that can trigger negative emotional response, and we work together to switch the polarity of such factors. Taking into account dietary support, and build a strong foundation of spirituality and self awareness to overcome obstacles to reach success in all aspects of life.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. When you're under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed, and are more open to suggestions. Hypnosis can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. It's important to know that although you're more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you don't lose control over your behavior.

How can Hypnotherapy help you?

Have you ever felt stuck, repeating the same mistakes over and over again? Don’t worry you are not alone, most people tend to make the same mistakes repeatedly. The reason is that we all have learned behavioral patterns or as we like to call them, cognitive behavioral programs. These programs are very important for day to day life, think of the time you learned how to drive. Remember how you felt about driving, to some its a liberating experience to drive and have more mobility, to others it could of been dreadful to think of driving and being exposed to danger. Yet you made it and learned even after all of the mistakes you could of made throughout the process. This is an example of a cognitive behavioral program, always running as you drive, gathering all of your experiences and knowledge to keep you safe on the road. It is these types of programs that governed much of our day to day life, working automatically to complete tasks, but what about the bad programs. The programs that don’t keep us safe, but cause distress. Like a traumatic experience or learned behavior from your environment as a child. These programs too work constantly and may be working on automatic just like driving. With hypnosis we work to re-program the negative behavior patterns by relaxing the mind and allowing it to become more susceptible to suggestion. This does not mean that you lose control, some of the misconception of Hypnotherapy is what has been glamorized on TV as a tool to make people into chickens or act foolish. The interesting thing is that in those people, they are fully aware of what they are doing and choosing to do so. Hypnosis can only fully work if you are willing, it does not take control of your mind. Hypnotherapy uses this state of susceptibility to re-program negative thought patterns, and filling in positive affirmations. This therapy has been very successful in treating a variety of different conditions without the use of drugs or more invasive procedures.

Hypnosis has been studied for other conditions, including:

  • Pain control. Hypnosis may help with pain due to burns, cancer, childbirth, irritable bowel syndrome,

fibromyalgia, temporomandibular joint problems, dental procedures and headaches.

  • Hot flashes. Hypnosis may relieve symptoms of hot flashes associated with menopause.

  • Behavior change. Hypnosis has been used with some success in the treatment of insomnia, bed-wetting, smoking, and overeating.

  • Cancer treatment side effects. Hypnosis has been used to ease side effects related to chemotherapy or radiation treatment.

  • Mental health conditions. Hypnosis may help treat symptoms of anxiety, phobias and post-traumatic stress.
